Right now, during the war, the biggest problem of the museum became obvious - the lack of a modern storage facility, adapted for the placement, storage, study and research of unique monuments of folk culture that were not included in the open expositions of the museum. A specially equipped storage facility must guarantee shelter and preservation of priceless exhibits in appropriate conditions, protect against robbery, bombing, fire and nuclear threats, which is relevant in wartime. In order to preserve the fund collection of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Folkways of Ukraine, it is necessary to build a modern, multi-level building with an area of 3,200 m2. The estimated cost of building the storage facility is $3 million. This will be a significant support for the Ukrainian state during its struggle for its own independence and cultural identity.
